Random Stuff

So, here's my weekly random update. It was double EXP this week in Allods, so I decided to level my Pally, Thaze, to lv30. I spread out the levels between my two twinks so there'd be more diversity in duelling. The main reason was that I wanted to try out the Sacred Sunrise Build. The build is decent, with insane heals, but the only problem is that with warriors, it's a solid loss. Stony Resistance is pretty much an instant win against this SS build. Owelz, it's still a fun build to run.

I've been playing more HON lately. I decided to include my referral code so that if anyone else wants to buy the game, I get 500 free coins. As of now, my stats are decent; it's too bad I got stomped hard today. There were around four wins out of a total fifteen matches. That's pretty gruesome stuff. These team games require competent teammates. I'm still not at that pro level where I can do everything myself. I wish I was that good... D:

Side note: I'm dropping Fractale after two episodes; it just didn't feel gripping. Maybe if it gets good reviews, I'll consider re-picking it up. I haven't even been able to start episode 3 of Madoka; something about it just makes me go bleh.

Oreimo and some other stuff

So seems like so far general consensus is my story is better. Ironically, the reason stated why mine was better was what Rho disliked about it, hence the open ending-ness of her story where mine wrapped everything up. Guess no one sees it Rhos way tsk tsk. Can still vote if you want to.

So I decided Bit by bit I'll move to make the blog more like an aniblog (anime blog). This is sprouted by the fact that apparently their was a tournament rating anime blogs earlier this year. Being competitive and already a half baked anime-ish blog I decided to just delve more deeply in this. Rho and Aaro have no faith I can keep up but I know better. I'll still have my gaming related and random posts too.

Rift lifted it's NDA so I can opening blog about it now. Not like much else changes but it isn't against their terms anymore. ~yay!

So more or less I been back in Allods for around 2 weeks now. PVP content is nice but being a step behind everyone since I was gone for a couple months sucks. Gotta slowly catch up now D:

Also on Allod note, guild dramaz ensuing. I can say lots and lots about this subject but it would only put more oil on the fire and I don't wanna do that to Tri.... or do I? Either way, many ways to handle this, or shoulda been handled. Shouldn't backseat leadership when I handed it off and then go on hiatus for a couple months. Hope Valiance pushes through, after all that is now Rozetri's guild not Rain that was passed off XD

Also finally added 2nd author (author we shared was Rain) which is Pearz. That way it is easier for me and don't need to keep swapping accounts when I want to read my email. Shoulda done this a long time ago but apprently I was to lazy to do 5 mins of clicking till now.

So with a lengthy random rant I'll do more Anime-ish part now:

Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai ( Or Oreimo for short)

Overall this anime started very strong. Standard Tsundere like character with random average guy that seems to have a harem but oblivious to the fact. Pretty average scenario lately in animes. Now the twist here was that the sister was the one that was a huge otaku. The jokes and everything were funny to begin with as time went, things changed dramatically. All I felt for the sister was pure hatred. She was a bitch to the core. Totally ignoring anything the brother did, raging for retarded minuscule things, just being a general Bitch about everything. If that was my sister, I would have just ignored her and told her to screw off. Which brings me to the brother. The fact that he even PUT UP with it made me hate him worse then the sister. He had a clear group of girls that liked him and he was all like "omgz I don't really care right now". Sadly he cares enough to do somthing about his sister though and put up with pure abuse ~sigh sigh.

In the end, the 2 main charaters pissed me off to no extent. Only redeeming charater was Kuroneko. Especially with this amazing ending scene.

Was SOOOOO Kawaii, almost redeemed the whole show a bit then 1 final scene showed that remembered why I hated it so much. What a bitch..... and how whipped is he?

Either way I believe purely hating this still got me to finish. I think it's my inner mind going "It can't get worse right?" Sadly I was wrong, it could get much worse. File this one up with 1 of those I hate with a burning passion, I wouldn't recommend to anyone. See if their extra 4 eps OVA will be any better........ though I doubt it.................
3/10

I'll do review of MM! later.

~Pearz

Anything you can do Rho can do too?

So my short story took probably........... 8 hours combined minus the mass procrastination. I challenged Rho that she couldn't write one in an hour. At least not a decent one, and she couldn't. It took roughly 1 hour and 30 mins but I guess close enough. So here it is, Rho's take on Rozetri XD

Story:
The sun-touched ruins of Asee-Teph lay undaunted by the fire's wicked dance; passionately did the fire dance, dancing to a symphony of silk and steel. Bark peeled and grass folded over and blackened as the oppressive heat washed over them.

A battle cry rang through the forest, echoed by another, and then another, then more until they blurred into one another and became incapable of differentiation. It was the end call, to gather the able-bodied after a skirmish. A call answered only by the victorious, to march on.

Surrounded by lifeless Orcs stood Rozetri, wiping blood off her blade with the singed tatters of her guild cape. Warriors bearing the Crest of Valiance emerged from the fog and fume around her. They were scattered by the fight, and they now re-gathered.

Dust and ash were strewn into the air by a powerful burst of magic; from within the now-cascading dust emerged Pearz, rifting into existence.

“That was no scouting party,” she commented, seeking confirmation.
“We seem to be nearing the main Orc Warband,” answered Rozetri, tossing aside her torn guild cape. “Lieutenent!”
“Ma'am?” Another cloaked figure emerged from the still-gathering group.

“Count the survivors. Then get them ready to continue.”
The group marched on, into the direction of visible destruction, into a battle that would define the era. They numbered in the twenties, still maintaining the battle strength of nearly a full battalion.

As they trekked on, they came across remains of fresh fights, League Banners shredded and bloodied, dragged through the mud, sightless eyes gazing at them as they trespassed. Orcs and Elves alike, lying cold and submerged in mud and ash. Rozetri ordered the banners of the fallen to be raised in their wake, to pay respect for the warriors that paved the path with their lives.
The forest opened up into a clearing; the trace of battle was not lost to this place. A single banner swayed in the still air of the clearing. Pearz stopped dead in her tracks as she recognized the banner that bore the Crest of Rain.

“What took you so long?” a familiar voice sounded. As strained as it was, it was deafening in the silence. Rho stood there leaning against upturned soil, the banner in her arms and draping over her shoulder.

“Get a healer over he-” Rozetri began to shout behind her.
“Which direction?” Pearz interrupted.
Rho pointed towards an edge of the clearing. “The forest ends just beyond there. The battle has already begun.”

“Make sure she survives,” instructed Rozetri to the healer. Looking at Rho, “As soon as you can crawl, crawl into battle!”

The group hurried in the direction that Rho had pointed. The group burst out of the forest and was greeted by the blinding rays of the dusking sun. As their vision adjusted, they laid witness to the true battle.

The silhouette of the Empire Main Camp perched on the astral shores of Asee-Teph. Amidst the backdrop of the sinking sun, the League and Empire warriors locked in a battle to the death. The prize of this battle was the Imperial docks, and along with it the foothold into Nezebgrad.

“Look upon it, men!” Rozetri drew her sword. “With Tensess' blessing, we've come this far! Like water, the Imps crash onto the ever enchroaching shores that is the League battalions!”

She pointed her gaze with her sword, towards the Empire Camp. “We stand now a sword's length away from their final bastion on our hollowed soil. They look tired, and weary, standing on the edge of the allod gazing into the abyss of the astral.”

Rozetri looked back at her battalion, the Crest of Valiance glistening in the sunlight.
Looking sinister, she commanded them, “Run them into the abyss.”

So now you read both ( I hope) our stories, vote on the side which you think its better. (hint: It's mine)

Story Time with Pearz

So here is premise of my story writing. Needed a short story for The great guild event for Allods. Problem is I didn't have the full time to write, only roughly 4 days. Main problem I had was time constraint and length. After the first couple paragraphs, I realized even for such a short story premise (pretty much all the important points here) the length would be much larger then antipated. Its more noticeable as story progresses, I get less inner thoughts to talk about lolz. It was a way to cut down content and I guess cut to the chase without losing much of the story. Also 2 of my characters didn't really have mcuh personality to them. Didn't think I could convey it well enough so I chose to leave them bland then to half bake it.

Still feel like the stories general point wasn't conveyed as strongly as I had hoped due to less build up. So without Further ado my short story: (split in 3 sections with buttons so it doesn't eat as much page space):

Only A Detour

Chapter 1:
It was pitch black outside. Nightfall had come and they were still grounded at the Novograd port.

Figures it would take longer than expected for the repairs to the ArchAngel. Those Gibberlings are too tiny to do anything properly. Should just purge them from the League – after all, only Kanians are barely good enough to live with our presence. Oh well. Might as well head to the inn for the night and hope they finish repairs by tomorrow.

The ArchAngel had just, hours ago, been attacking the enemy – the Empire. They had expected to suffer a few scratches and perhaps some extra ventilation holes, but it was far from the suicidal raid it almost ended up being. It was a wonder they had even made it back to Novograd.

The crew had taken a wrong wormhole and ended up facing, of all things, Nezebgrad. Seeing the opportunity of having completely breached the outer defence lines of the Empire, Pearz saw it as a chance to deal damage to the heart of the enemy nation. She intended to use that same wormhole again to launch a full scale attack on Nezebgrad.

The crew of Elves floated towards the Inn, looking for some rest before the final hour approached. The Tavern on the first floor was nearly flooded with League soldiers. It was late but most of them didn't seem to care, simply adding to the loudness. Much of people present in the Tavern belonged to Valiance, welcoming the crew with familiarity that was only skin deep. Pearz harboured distaste for most of the other members, feeling quite superior in every way to them.

Rozetri firmly put her hand on Pearz' shoulder, waiting for the glance and then signalling her to head to the room. She knew all too well how things usually got ugly in the mix of drunken guildmates and Pearz' hot temper.

"How about we head up and plan out our attack in detail where it is quieter?" Rozetri had channelled the Leader Persona, trying to keep Pearz focused on the matter at hand.
Blah, I'll deal with these people later. Can't compromise such a good opportunity. Still…so like her to ruin all my fun.

Pearz knew, though, that it was only Rozetri’s job to keep the peace between the members and so she decided to oblige her leader’s request. Before leaving, however, Rozetri couldn’t stop her from scoffing at the drunken guildmates; she could keep her disdain at bay for only so long. Walking into the neighbouring room, the rest of the small team was already present, debating various courses of action.

“We attack from here. The Imps won’t be able to react before we dock and take out Yaskar,” explained Ejac.

“Don’t you think it’d be faster if we spearhead their weak defences here first? I don’t think the lazy guards will be fast enough to stop us,” Muxy countered.

“I prefer Ejac's plan,” Rozetri informed. “It's safer and lets us take advantage of our stealth. It’s about getting in and getting out, not Leroying in. We all know that things didn’t turn out well enough for that guy.”

Always playing it safe. If it were up to me, things would be so much different. She held her tongue, knowing full well that it wasn’t up to her. She didn’t want to bother Rozetri with more than the leader already had on her plate.

“So, we will go with this plan,” Rozetri commanded. “We’ll leave in 6 hours. Get some rest and prepare well for departure.” As Ejac and Muxy left, Rozetri patted them on the back in solidarity. When it was the only the two of them left, she quietly looked at Pearz for a moment before leaving. It was only Pearz left, her gaze turning into a distorted glare.

If only I didn't owe her my life… I would take these matters into my own hands.

Sighing softly, Pearz decided to get sleep; she knew things had a way of turning out strangely despite plans.
Chapter 2:
The sun had begun to inch up beyond the edge of the allod when the ship was ready to set sail. The rest of the group was already ahead of Pearz; she had a tendency to sleep into late hours with nothing being an exception.

“Get in here already, Pearz! We need to get there early, before the guards switch!” Rozetri anxiously called, standing at the edge of the ship.

Hearing her, Pearz glided faster; there was no need to cause bad blood by being difficult. She noted that the ship looked as good as new. Despite the time that the Gibberlings had taken, they had done a splendid job – perhaps matching Pearz’ expectations, although she didn’t acknowledge it.

The ArchAngel began its flight towards Nezebgrad, following the path that it had taken the day prior. The secret wormhole in the Arsenic Sector led to only 10,000 yards away from the Empire allod; it was really the perfect way to strike hard at the nation’s core. The path mapped out was long and it would have been much faster to take the more direct, more well-known path to Nezebgrad – but those known wormholes were littered with minefields and large lines of defence set up by the Empire soldiers to arduously protect their home. Even though it felt like eternity, it was the better way. Pearz was lofting around the deck when the cry jolted her out of her mindless movement.

“Watch out!”

One sector away from Arsenic, from the wormhole, what she had only instinctively been feeling finally hit – the Astral Storm. It was the bane of all ships, the ArchAngel clearly no exception.

As Pearz flew towards the helm, she saw Rozetri desperately trying to fly the ship away – but they both knew it; the pull was too strong. They watched in agony as the ship was caught in the gravitational lure, slowly nearing the murky clouds and the lightning threatened to blind them all. Pearz collapsed before she could see much else; the magnetic fields of the storm wilted her wings into submission.

Chapter 3:
God, my head hurts. What happened?

Pearz felt sore all over, barely managing to open her eyes to the lush green grass surrounding her. Sprawled around her were the rest of the crew – and the half-torn ship that was clearly in no shape for work. She forced herself to get up, wanting to check on the rest of the crew.

Shocking Grasp should do it.

Every single one woke up in only a few seconds – much faster than Pearz had expected – followed with a look of disapproval over the awakening method. None said anything, as Rozetri was the one first to recover and was already in Reconnaissance Mode. They followed her closer to the remnants of the ship, aiding in her assessment.

“Okay, everyone spread out and search this allod. We might be able to come across some crystals for our destroyed reactor. Meet back here in one hour,” was the official command.

Always quick to assess the situation and get things moving forward. Guess she’s not all useless – at least she does have an affinity for leading.

The group separated, taking different paths further into the forest, to search for the items that would allow them to leave the allod. Pearz walked a few steps before blinking away into the forest, trying to get more ground covered within the time limit. After only 25 minutes of fruitless searching, however, she knew she had to head back in order to return on schedule.

Only a couple more yards…then I'll head back.

In the distance, Pearz saw a clearing. She floated only a few steps before blinking forward; the clearing was closer than before. The sun shone so intensely on the lake that, from her distance, it seemed to be made of glass, reflecting clearly without a single ripple. Rozetri was already there, gazing so intently at the rare sight that Pearz almost didn’t interrupt her.

Rozetri already knew about her presence, though. “Pearz, let’s head back. Muxy and Ejac are waiting. Don’t worry; I found what we need to get off this allod.”

Pearz’ eagerness was probably clearly written on her face – or was Rozetri that good at reading her after so long? – that the response came before the question had been formed.

“Let’s wait until we meet up with Ejac and Muxy. It will be easier to explain only once, when we are together.” Pearz only nodded, not liking the lack of preferential treatment. The two ran back to the meeting point; Ejac and Muxy were both timely, as always, but looked depressed. It was clear that, other than Rozetri, no one had found anything.

Rozetri was still short of breath when she began to speak. “I think I found what we need. There is a pocket of crystals that I saw in the distance, but I couldn't reach it alone.”

“Why?” Ejac interrupted, far more eager than Pearz had been earlier.

“Let me speak, Ejac,” Rozetri gently reprimanded. “Essentially, it's on a cliff. I can't reach it alone – it’s so far away that I only saw a glimpse of it. The height alone is not the problem, actually. The real problem lies within the lake, which divides us from the cliff. I dived in earlier, before you arrived, Pearz. The reason the lake was so calm is because there is only one creature in there – a beast of a fish, at the very centre of the bottom. Even the small waves I made had it rolling in its slumber. I'm sure if we try to cross this lake, we will wake it up.”

The solution seemed painfully simple to Pearz. Take out the fish, problem solved.

“This is the plan. I will go in to lure it away, while you three head straight for the crystals. Get in and out fast.” Pearz resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Always walking the path of peace, Tri. Like an overgrown fish can stop us. It’s better to just gut it and go.

Ejac and Muxy agreed to the plan readily, knowing how Rozetri could tank anything. They didn’t look to Pearz with suspicion – they weren’t used to the idea that she usually implemented her own solutions. Rozetri was too weary to think that far; her trusting nature allowed her to accept Pearz’ silence as consent.

Following Rozetri back to the lake, all three had the same reaction to what the leader pointed to. The giant fish, clearly visible through the pristine water when they stood at the edge, was absolutely ugly. It had horns and spikes positioned amongst its scales, as if it had evolved to fight and dominate its waters. It awoke immediately once Rozetri dove into the water with all her might; she signalled for the others to quickly swim through.

The sky shook with the lightning bolt that pressed through the waters, hitting the fish as if on target. That caused the monster to charge towards the cause – Pearz. Like a well-oiled machine, Muxy immediately began attacking while Ejac began healing – both mindlessly, falling back on instincts that had been honed through many disasters. Rozetri tried to catch up, trying to take the attention so that she could be solely hit by the creature, but the water pressure coupled with her heavy armour slowed her down. The fight continued as lightning rained from the sky, meteors crashed upon the waters, and a poisonous plume of smoke surrounded the fish.

The moment Rozetri was in range, never losing sight of her priorities, she raised her sword in a silent battle cry and charged the fish. It barely phased the creature, but the attack did its intended job of turning it towards her. A purple bolt of electricity took over the water, shooting towards the fish with intensity – with a strange groaning noise, the fish stopped twitching and stopped moving. It floated towards the surface, revealing a small chest falling from the clutches of its fin.

Pearz laughed loudly, boasting, “There was no need for such a wussy strategy, Tri. We could have just took it out and moved on. Even some treasure along the way-” Rozetri’s angry punch interrupted her triumphs.

“Do you know you did, Pearz? You put us all in danger for your own selfish needs! You must see the big picture – taking out Yaskar! That is our top priority! It can end in war and bloodshed if we’re not careful at every step of the way!”

Pearz’ anger threatened to boil over – and the usual restraint when she was about to yell at a guildmate, Rozetri’s trusting words, was not there. She glared angrily, ready to start the fight. Ejac and Muxy inched away slowly, knowing better than to get in the middle of the argument – misfire didn’t discriminate targets.

“Maybe I should word it better, Pearz,” Rozetri continued, her voice calmer than before. “Once we get off this allod, there will be many, many Imps for you to deal with. Save your strength for that. Save your mana for that. This is only a detour.” Her words made Pearz back off slightly, to only think about it.

I guess I can deal with her later. Once we get back to Novograd, I'll just have to take her out of the picture permanently. How much longer will she continue to stand in my way?

Rozetri’s words worked as well as she knew they would; the times when the two of them had only been friends, without the weight of guild leadership to meddle, were not times to be easily forgotten. Pearz wordlessly headed towards the other side of the lake, towards the crystals – her silence this time did mean consent. The remainder of the group followed, Rozetri silently assuming leadership as usual. The gathering didn’t take long and the four headed back towards the ship in the same bout of silence.

Tensions were high, so high that all four hesitated to speak up for different reasons. Even without talking, however, they were synchronized enough to take the ship back on course, eventually poised in front of the wormhole that they knew to take them to Nezebgrad. But something needed to be said, and Rozetri was not one to back away.

“Pearz, I know we have our differences in opinion…but I hope that you can understand,” she said softly, glancing at the Elven mage who wouldn’t look her way. “We have been fighting together for far too long for it to mean nothing. We came together in hardship, and we strengthened our bonds by fighting back.” She paused for a moment, wringing her hands together purposefully as she struggled to find the right words to reach out to her long-time comrade. Pearz saw, but chose to say nothing.

“In the end, you know that I will be there to watch your back,” the Elven paladin finally continued, “and I trust you to watch mine. These small quarrels can only help us grow stronger, as soldiers, as guildmates…as friends. Things worked out this time – but that can’t always be true. I hope you can speak your mind next time so that we can talk it over instead of just springing it on us at the decisive moment. That is all I feel I can ask of you.”

Pearz stared at the hand that was reached out towards her and then found Rozetri staring at her intently. She stared back for some moments, beginning to enjoy what she knew must have been excruciating for the other Elf.

Hmph. Always only interested in keeping the peace. Guess I can let it slide this time. She pressed her hand against Rozetri’s for a brief handshake, looking away mere seconds later and floating away.

Seeing that things seemed to be smoothed out, Rozetri signalled the others to steer the ship into the wormhole. The gaping hole in space that sucked the ship in left the crew far more anxious than wormholes tended to; thoughts of the fight waiting on the other side predominated even the instincts to pilot the ship. They readied their weapons instead, waiting to see the other side.

There was a blaze of fire awaiting them. The large allod, the Empire city clearly visible, was almost blinding, each burst of flames indiscernible from the next. The mighty Tower of Yaskar, which had once pierced the sky, was a pile of rubble. Pearz, standing at the edge of the ship already, tensed when she began to see the fleet of astral ships, each one flying the Valiance flag. She whirled around to see Rozetri and her rather large grin of triumph.

“You knew they would all be here already, didn't you?” Pearz asked, unable to mask her disappointment into anything else.

“I told them about it while you were sleeping last night, so we could coordinate the strike. They were supposed to come in during our raid to start the real fight and take out the rest of the city during the panic of Yaskar having died. But…we took a bit longer than expected, so I suppose they began without us,” Rozetri explained. She laughed softly, “and ended it too.”

“You owe me ‘many, many Imps to deal with’. How are you going to repay that?” Pearz asked, incredulous at having being duped.

“Simply, Pearz, simply,” Rozetri said, floating closer to pat Pearz’ shoulder. “You’re now the commander in charge of finishing off the stragglers left on this allod. I trust that might sooth your bloodthirst.”

“Only a little,” Pearz said carefully, not willing to admit defeat to her adversary. “Nothing can make up for missing the final blow on Yaskar. I’ll settle that score later, Tri. I have an allod to cleanse.”

She looked away, flying off to the tip of the ArchAngel to signal the fleet. They closed in on what was left of Nezebgrad, and Pearz couldn’t hide her grin.

So hope you enjoyed it. Tried my hand at creating a more plot based story but had trouble giving personalities to all the characters. Guess I am just better at writing more humor based stuff. Can criticizes all you want want in comments.

Side note: Aaro edited it, nothing fancy. If anything, made it worse.

~Pearz

Been a while since I posted so often

The day of reckoning is upon me!!!!

So today (since past midnight) marks a torn choice.

HON 2.0- The matchmaking was tested yestarday and proved almost bug free, expected to be full implemented today.

Allods - The new full PVP anticipated update has arrive. Should be playable later 2day too.

Rifts- Apparently I got selected again to participate in the next CB that starts today.

Probably choose Allods, since Rho can get a chance to try out Rift on my account and HON didn't really have much change. Can save that for later.

Realized alot of more anime-ish blogs do a 12 days of anime christmas where they recount amazing anime moments of the year. Problem is it would be a post a day and I don't think I can keep up a post a day and would have to pre-write most of it before hand. Maybe I can do it next year if I remember. For now this moment is absolutely hilarious. I knew High School of the Dead was insane fanservice but bullet time boobs that move as fast as bullets? That's new:

So side note is I started writing a short story for Allods Guild event. Chance to create yet another ego induced random wad of garbage for people to read. Fun ^_^ Probably post it up here when I am done, Though at this rate, it isn't gonna be a very short story.

End note: Turns out the leaked Blizzard schedule is confirmed to be real. Guess we will be seeing a next-gen MMO coming from Blizzard in the future, sounds interesting.

~Pearz

NDS post

First non-NDS based thing, decided to start playing Allods again. The new PVP patching coming will be nice.

Second non-NDS thing, HON 2.0 is botched so bad. Making a the patch centered around Matchmaking but not have match making out is fail. Pretty unplayable now without matchmaking.

So firstly I finally beat the 3rd Golden Sun for the DS. I gotta say this is probably the worse Golden Sun. This was a joke of a game compared to the other Golden Suns or even most the other games in general. Let me list out the problems:

1. Easy, can pretty much be beaten blindfolded. The puzzles are made simple, and bosses need zero planning. Just Leroy in.

2. The storyline is paper thin. Nothing gripping at all for story maybe cause their "quest" is just stupid. Their is zero sense of urgency till near the end, and even then *semi spoiler* it is your fault. Coulda been easily avoided if your characters weren't retarded. Seen 5 year olds write better stories then this.

3. Which brings to next point, I hate every character in your team. Their is a total of 1.5 characters that are decent. I can't even stand the rest at all. Paper thin personality, most I think are retarded.

Pretty much the only thing decent about Golden Sun was the Dijinn system which I do love which is only thing they got going for them. Should be ashamed to be called Golden Sun game. 5/10

So I wanted to make this post a while ago delving more into 999 since it was such a good game.

Spoiler:
Did like all the small details they put into the game. Though it takes a bit of thinking but the whole game flows fine even with the time paradox. With a firm understanding of how the paradox exists and works, can understand that they don't have holes. The whole June getting a fever every time you were off course meaning she was gonna die to the incinerator was an amazing touch. So was the whole everything on bottom screen was what June saw. Loved how it played into needing to flip the NDS at the end of true ending.

The less spoiler-ific stuff was interesting too. They take about some of the paradoxes like Locke's Sock. It was a very nice blend of Pseudo science and some real things. Really made me think about some of these things. It's rare to find them actually blend theory well into games. Most of them botch it up badly with their half baked science filled with holes. I am just very impressed how well done things are in this game are even down to the minor details.

It also helps to have a crazy Yandere ending too XD Play this even if you don't have NDS. Google: Desmume (NDS emulator for computer)
Actual ROM: [NDS] 5356 - Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (USA)(RobotKillers)

Last un related note: Rift betas suck. Just cause I was in first beta doesn't garuntee I will be in next ones. Don't get to keep play T_T

~Pearz

Preliminary Looks at Rift

So, I was one of the fortunate few to get picked to be in CB1 of Rift. The only thing was that the first CB only lasted three days and by time I got my invite and downloaded, I had only one day left. Because of that, I have no screenshots; I was way too busy levelling. Either way, I turned down the settings to the lowest and I know it looks much better on a good computer. There's no point in looking at my crappy shots.

The level cap was 20 and I reached level 14 on my Cleric.

This is how the skill system works:
You get main class of Warrior, Cleric, Rogue or Mage. Literally 5min in, you pick your first sub class. The main classes don't get a skill tree; the skills come purely from your sub classes. At around level 5, you get your second sub class, and I'm told that you get your third one at level 18.

Here is a picture of the sub classes for each main class you can pick from (taken from the beta forums):

I'm a Justicar/Shaman, and haven't gotten far enough to pick my third. I've gotta say that Justicars seem brokenly good. I leech HP back on attacks that heal everyone in the team; each time I attack, I build a devotion charge, which I can use to heal myself and the team for even more. Though I haven't tried the other stuff, so my opinion is very biased at the moment.

The quests design is decent. There is a lot of kill XX mob YY times, but they do spice it up with random weird quests, like a cheese-eating contest, racing another NPC, or throwing nets to capture fiery squirrels. lulz I didn't mind the questing at all.

Now, a huge selling point about this game are the rifts (as it is named after these XD) The concept is that there are entire rifts opening up, changing the world environment, and creating an event that players can fight.

One thing that occurred was that the rifts got rushed by every player in the area the second it opened, and they opened often. Roughly one opened every 5min, so you do get spammed with rifts. That makes it feel like a real danger of the world losing and thus you have to defend. Basically, if you don't defend the rift, the mobs that come out will walk towards your towns and own all the NPCs, thus controlling the town. At that point, you would need to group up and recapture the town before the NPCs respawn.

It is a very interesting concept that does present the feeling of danger and a need to defend the world. It does get annoying when no one else comes to help even though it can't really be soloed unless your over-levelled for that area.

That's pretty much all the content that I got through; overall, I do enjoy Rift at the moment and I'm looking forward to the next beta (if I'm in). It does have a lot of potential.

Side note: I saw that the new patch coming to Allods is very focused on PVP. It does make me kind of want to go back and play it...

~Pearz

sigh sigh

So the new Allods patch hit. Took some time to patch and install but I was finally back in game. The interface and such does look more appealing.

Only major concern is the patch was more a balancing of the classes and nearly no content added.

Though I feel cheated, patched notes ( and RU version notes) told me firewall would get 80% speed reduc when they are in it, this is not true. D:

Only other notable mention was Cody was all "ZOMGZ WATCH YOSUGA NO SORA, SUPER FUNNY SCENE!1!!!!11!" Me not watching even the trailer for it yet, decided to watch it. See if it was another anime worth watching of the new season.

So me unsuspectingly watched this and all I can say is WTF? This was like softcore porn/hentai. I don't even get how it was considered an anime. Usually visual novel animes don't do it this way. And for those wondering, their was no funny scene. The whole thing was super serious and the "main" heroine your introduced is a bitch.
Sorry Cody, your recommendations will now be all rejected.

Last note is something that really happened.
*Rho has just bought FF13 for PS3*
*after some cinematic the game starts, extremely linear with literally 1 path you can walk down on a bridge*
*roughly 15 mins in Rho reaches a fork in the path, 1 is stairs leading off the bridge and other keeps going to a pile of rubble blocking bridge*
Rho: So we can't jump in FF games so clearly the stairs are the way your SUPPOSE to go. I'll check the rubble area then.
*Rho walks towards the rubble and sees this box*
Rho: OMGZ look a box, this is CLEARLY a secret.
*Rho clicks box*

~Would you like to save your Progress?~

At this point me and Aaro can't stop laughing. End of story: Save points are a secret in games :O

And turns out you hop over the rubble, the stairs had a treasure chest for some random item XD

GT run today

So we downed Nogram first try, wasted alot of time getting to Wark.

First attempt went horrible, 2nd attempt was 17% left, 3rd attempt at 12%. We might be able to beat him soon.

Immortal indeed.

~Pearz

Sooo.........

1) FF14 Open beta has been closed due to a "Critical Bug" on first day. This bolds well for official release in less then a month. Still don't know if I can run it but I don't see much hope for this.

2) Logged on tonight to do Gorluxors tower in Allods. We downed the first boss Nogram, but failed 2nd one. I think our raid could have finished. We just needed to reorganize our raid and have everyone ready for him. Some organization all we were missing for beating him.

3) Mainly HONing with Rho again. Kinda out of my anime phase again. Comes and goes where I watch a couple series at once. Probably Finish Kannagi and that will be end. Been over a week and haven't finished a 14 eps series.

4) As of now, the most anticipated MMO I want to try is probably Iris Online or Guild Wars 2 (Blade and soul if that ever comes), Iris being most.
A> Anime-ish = pure win
B> seems to have decent customization
C> Run by Gpotato that I actually think does amazing job as a gaming company, would try their games just cause they host it.

5) Mirai Nikki came out with a new chapter (55), guess they might prolong the manga alot longer. Seemed almost certain it was going to end soon but they just opened it up to be much longer if they want which doesn't seem like a good idea D:

6) And for anyone this effects, good idea to update some of your programs. Apprently a critical Windows .dll vunerability was found recently. Could effect some programs you use (for me it was Utorrent) and put your computer at risk.

Enter, Hero Rozetri

Think this is most frequent posting I made

Last post was less then a day ago but SOMTHING BIG OCCURED!11!!1!!

Today in Allods news, one of our own, Rozetri has gotten spotlight in the news.

I get a total of 1 mention of my name and 2 half mentions (Mage in mog island, and Elemental wrath XD)

Congratz Rozetri, may you step out of the Rhoze's shadow XD

Soul Master Hiatus over

Been a long time since I made so many posts in such a short time but here goes.

Probably shortest break from a game I ever taken. With Rho playing with me now too, I can bounce ideas for builds and strategies with her, makes a big difference.

Though atm she sucks, I'm sure she will improve quickly :O Though I still despite being a Priest but I will probably finish leveling to 30 before trying another class. Probably Bearcat. It is more fun to fail with someone else then all alone XD

So I was intending to move the blog to wordpress. I even had like 1/3 of the work done, but then I hit a brick wall. Apparently wordpress.com does not support Java script, what this means is I can't upload either of my shoutboxes to this site. I would need to register with a Web hoster for my own domain to be able to. The advertised site for 2 years at 2 dollars a month isn't bad but not sure if I want to commit real money to it. Main problem is I would want to just keep using my my own DNS (the .co.cc page I use here) and Shiki can't seem to retrieve the login info.

Maybe I'll consider wordpress again in the future, but at this point I'm cheap and lazy. It is still alot of work to convert everything I want. I can live with blogspot for now, though I did like the editor for wordpress even though I sucked with it.

As for Allods, I feel less drive to even run heroics for Allods anymore. I have only up to Blight unlocked but don't really feel like unlocking last 2 heroics. Just feel my character is finally "complete" (even though I'm still 5% from hitting 42 for the pass like week lulz)

Rune Costs

Since I was bored in class, I was falling asleep so I decided to find out the cost to make a level 10 rune. Since runes are so influential now, I'll post this for other people to look at, though it is mainly for my own reference.

Pearz, reporting in?

So with the new patch Allods forums went into a frenzy. A week later, finally forms starting to quiet down a bit. So the new Giveaway I think is a great idea. In contrast to Megaten, when stuff happens they did nothing( I guess locking threads and banning is doing somthing) . At least Aeria quickly lowered prices on cashop and the Giveaway is insane. Even if you exclude the cashop prices that doesn't really cost them money, the other prizes added together is pretty substantial. I mean if a company willing to fork out the big bucks to keep their customers (not just some gimmick of a giveaway) I think they deserve some credit.

At first when I was starting Allods I was skeptical about Gpotato due to pass experiences in Flyff, but as a gaming company I really applaud the work their doing. I mean working to try and fix what they do have control over (item mall) or scheme up new promotions to make you spend more. You decide.

Either way, I learned it is impossible to satisfy the people on Allod Forums. you give them a dollar (the giveaway, item mall price drop) and they yell and curse at you for not giving a million. I mean compared to other F2P games Allods is still by far the cheapiest I seen. These people complaining have not played other F2P games.

~C'est la vie!

Though still, my opinion matters very little. If people believe it really is blasphemy, they will still quit. As such we got a large amount of players quitting, thus beginning the chain reaction. As people quit, you get less player base making game less fun for everyone else and then more people quit completing a vicious cycle. Thus leads me to my next topic.

Me (and some others in guild) is finding Allods less fun lately. Both sides seem to not wanna PVP, and with most of us finished gearing, their isn't much else to do. Also makes me glad I made the PVP videos before the patch even though the quality sucks.

Rho, being the most pissed with new patch, set out to find a new suitable MMO to try. Didn't need to be long term, just bridge the gap between now and FF14 release. Rho has sampled quite a few but they seem even worse then Allods.

Of the games so far left with 2 that seem decent.
1. Loong (it's actual the Pin yin of dragon, the background character in their logo). This game SAYS OB starts Summer 2010, but still no set release date. Seems intersting as it uses the MT system of no classes (so I assume your skill/build determines your class)

2. Soul Master. The NA version is set to be released July 22nd, while the EU version has no release date yet. Now normally I wouldn't care about the EU version, but since Rho is still in China, the NA version blocks IPs from their. Either way I will try this game out when CB starts (the NA version) to see how it is. Your welcome to join me if you wish. Seemed like interesting combat system combined with Chibi characters = win?

Though hard to judge the games yet without getting a hands on first. I'll see how it goes, and on off chance you think you found some amazing MMO that we overlooked, you can post it (not likely though, but you can try ^_^)

On final long post note, finally decided on Animes to watch this season. Going to keep up with Amagami SS (Though Eps 3 just came out today and made me go WTF so much I watched to drop it) and Ookami-san (AKA Grown up Taiga XD. The real name is much more lengthy but first part is enough to find it. Haven't been able to pin all the fairy tales to the characters yet though, but seems solid /end ramble)

Finally thanks for Bern recommending Denpa Teki Na Kanojo (their are only 2 OVAs so far). First eps a bit more gory then I would prefer but overall still a really good anime and worth the watch. (nothing like the crappy Aaro reccomendations :O)

Side note: Latest Eps of Katanagatari (7) was awesumz. Makes me really look forward to more episodes.

Also I fail at Dragon Quest 9, currently on hold due to my own failure D:

Haven't made a long post like this in a while *poofs*

New patch after thoughts

Well seems just as much QQing on forums lately even though charm prices dropped. That's Allod forums for you. I said when I first started I don't know how the GMs stay sane with this many retards on the forums. ~sigh sigh

Well main reason for post is I do wanna retract something incorrect in my last post. The fresh 40s may have a slower time then before gearing up, but it was not as bad as it first seemed. Blown outta proportion by forum QQers like always.

All the Heroics are alot easier now. You got players able to solo Heroics now. Even I can tank for the red rings no problem. Oreshek is just a joke now. Much more friendly for lvl 40s in blues then it used to be. Not to mention most of the time 2 epics drop now from final boss, add on lots of new blues (good ones :O) dropping from trash mobs too. Really helps cushion the blow for new level 40s better then it used to when players first hit the heroics.

Only real issue is players won't be able to full legendary anywhere as easily as it used to be but meh. At least you can get those epics to be able to compete a bit.

Also I started playing Dragon Quest 9 for DS. Seems decent so far though it does feel a bit grindy.

Edit: Forgot to mention I'm sure glad I made PVP videos before the patch, seems much less PVP action. Might be cause I haven't been to temple often either......

Day 2 of new patch

So this patch has some pretty significant changes. For 1 thing, Asa Teph, generally the most populated map, was near desolate yesterday. I saw a total of like 3 lvl 40s doing same quest as me and only 1 level 27 doing rep quest. So it seems a majority of players have disappeared. Seems every map, even Novograd seems empty. The only map bustling with people is Gipat.

Also judging by quick response by GMs to lower prices, the server must have been much less populated. If it wasn't a a big difference they would have just waited a bit for things to settle first.

So here is my Take on the new patch. For previous level 40s, it doesn't change a whole lot. New death system just paying my money into a different item instead of incense. Gear wise, being done most the gear already how it is changed doesn't have a large effect either.
Taking longer to level also just grindy, not insane bad either, it is the last 2 levels of the game. Still no where close to the kind of grind of MT.

The problem hits for the players not yet 40 extremely hard which is why every map other then Gipat is empty. Here is the Issues:
Pre-patch: after hitting 40, dedicated players could be full epic geared in a matter of 2 weeks, now it would take close to a month minimum (if your lucky) more likely 2 months to get the same kinda stuff.
Exp rates are much higher, leading people to take longer to hit 40.
Death penalty, from 1-35 no one even bothered incensing, now regardless of level you will need blessed charms every time you die.
Astral is back to way it SHOULD be, not flooded with a billion allods, problem is drop rate is still low I presume.
Same goes for quests, it used to be small range you had to be in to get the share of kill. It was increased across map which was a bit ridiculous.

So see how Allod goes, truthfully I still wonder how Allod makes money with such low pricing. Also wonder how RU server lasted against this patch.

Lastly, see how this patch sets in. Hoped I woulda stayed in Allods till FF14(which is speculated to come out Sep 22 :O) came out but if their is no player base, you lose the flare of being an MMO.

~Pearz

PVP Videos

Not like anyone cares(or reads) about my promises, but here are the 2 PVP videos I promised a couple posts back:

So now the 12 hour maintenance for our new patch. Should be decent I hope. So far of 4 new series this anime season, I like none of them, maybe my standards are getting to high..........

Finally note, Here is to rooting for Germany since the start (since their the favorites to win now) Spain by far played better, extremely disappointed in Germany's performance.
~Pearz

And Anime season ends and new patch stuff

So both Durara and Angel beat final eps ended today (well subbed versions came out, it ended yestarday).

Gotta say Durara was a let down, started off strong(8.5/10) and died off near end. - 7.5/10

Angel beat I loved from start to finish, very solid anime. Only spoiler-ish is, you finally understand the title. 9/10

Very rare I give 9+ scores D:

So only other thing is started playing Blue dragon awakening on DS. Seems decent so far but I'm not far in. Also picking up Arakawa under the bridge(anime) under Aaro's recommendation. See how that goes.

So initially I was fine with the changes with cursed items, Incense and mounts . What gets me is the changes to runes. Why make them more effective and much more costly to put in. Thats like asking to make them more "needed". Ontop of that, the expiration dates on Cashop is wtf. Doesn't let people hold ontop items like waters until they need it. So if it drops, your forced to use it right away rather when you need it. Find the rune changes blatant convert to more Cashop Dependant. See how the costs and everything play out again.....

Though I am inclined to believe 90% of the players in Allod forums believe GP is run off of rainbows and smiles. When you asked 100 people in game, and 1 person says they cashoped, that can't look good for GP's balance sheets. End of the day they do need to make some money off this game, having 4(I think) GMs employed 24/7 is a cost of at least 280 dollars a day not to mention overhead, licensing fees ETC. When no one is paying real money how is this game still alive? Those smiling faces of free gamers sure can sell well I guess.

The thought of even spending 10 dollars seems insane to everyone on the forums, sigh sigh.

Final note: Go Japan, South Korea and Germany :)

Judge rank!!!

So day 4 is split in 2. First part was right after reset Where I fit in a bit of farming. I went from 11.8k CG to 14k-ish CG. Right before sleeping, we found singularity running Charge through mine quests. We killed them and Massacre brought a couple players and we fought for 30 mins 4 (us) Vs 3.5 (the .5 was a crappy level 40 psi that tried to help). We ended up stopping when perfume ran out and no more CG gain and called it a night.

Woke up and continued to grief Coldberg. Was just pure farm until roughly an hour before reset. We caught again a group of Massacres trying to run a nub through the mines quests. This time, they responded in huge force. We only had 5 of us (and Seer that only joined for a bit). We started winning but as more and more poured in, we were losing but always kill 1 before dieing. So we at least broke even K:D which was good for our CG. By the end I counted at least 4 warriors, 2 scouts, 2 healers, 1 summoner, and 1 psi all their to kill us. Was alot of fun and got alot of CG outta it, so win - win. At this point I hit 17.1k CG.

After reset, was all business back to farming. Had a couple bad fights, couldn't beat a cleric + scout from BP with me + Tri, that made us really sad. After that, only other fun moment was Playstation kept rushing me. I took all the CG off him and let him chase me doing no damage and Psyrona that walked out beside me to get CG off him.

All leading up to my final kill:

Really like to thank Rozetri and Muxy for endless farming banners for me and Ejac. Really couldn't have done it without them. I used all real banners from 10k CG forward so really helped with the farming.

Just waiting on Ejac to reach Judge too, Gambatte!!!

~Pearz

Quest to Judge rank

So a couple days ago I finally finished all the gear I need from astral (apart from a couple extra rings to swap around for fun). Currently still missing Epic shirt, pants and shoulders from heroics and I can say my gear is done. (until I can get legendaries)

So this week decided to try my hand at Judge Rank:

Day 1:
Pretty solid CG farming. I'm competing with Ejac and Seer who are also going for judge this week. More people means less kills for me. Also main enemy is Flux from Emp side that is going for Judge (which can stomp me D:) He handed me my first death roughly 5 hours after CG reset when I got baited out by 1 of their guild warriors. All in all, I end day 1 with 6.8k CG.

Day 2:
SLOWWWWW day. Super slow, it is like every emp is in hiding. I patrolled all the maps and found 2 emps in a 2 hour span of time. This would be so much easier if I was Emp. No matter what time, or what Map I go to, Leagues always seem to outnumber emp 3:1. Where is Flux to own them all so much they don't come back? Though I saw Flux was already at 17k CG, so he should be outta my hair soon. Funniest was after an hour of bored running around map, I saw Health in DR looking afk near June stone, So I decided to rush him......... He wasn't afk XD.

Only Other Perk of the day was I started using real banners in Coldberg and a total of 2 emps finished both reps in 4 hours I camped it. Is it really that bad I use bugged banners? At least I move around and people get their reps done slowly. With me anchored on 1 map, no one finishes that rep until they stop giving me CG. Simply dump 1 guildy at portal in and I know every player that warps in and where their going. Not hard to kill them before they can even start their rep.

Near the end I instigated a larger fight when Doom brought their guild to kill my banner. I lost my banner, but I gained much more CG from so many people showing up compared to the 1 emp every 30 mins or so. Rewind showed up, tried to help but left after realizing how useless Doom guild was. Fight broke up when Somone called the CoolstoryBro guild and we out numbered them.

End tally of CG day 2: 11.8k CG

Day 3: I miss all of it due to Real life stuff, no farming today, Emps get a break.
