Legend Of Edda (And Some Random Stuff)

I'll start off with the random stuff before my Legend of Edda review.

1) The subbed version of Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks finally came out, after waiting half a year for raws. I really liked the story, but if only they could make it longer. I hope they can do the third universe too, with Saber going rogue. I think 8/10 for this, but you should watch the original anime or it might not make as much sense.

2) So, the new anime have started to air. So far, I'm watching MM (for being funny enough) and Oreimo (though it's borderline too weird for me). Let's see if anything else catches my eye as the week goes on.

3) So, the current list of new MMOs is:
Allods patch = Oct 5th
Dynasty Warriors = Oct 14th
Vindictus OB = Oct 13th
Kitsu Saga = open already, but I don't think it is good enough to even be worth downloading

4) So, I noticed Royce got a community all-star award for Megaten. I'm hopping I can somehow win, too, without even logging in. Go here and nominate me plox. XD If I win, you can have a Loli in a Can.

So, finally, onto the Legend of Edda Review:

I reached level 18 on my Archer. The current cap is level 30.

Pros:

PVP
This is probably the best feature. They stress PVP with realm vs realm matches every hour, with a message every time it opens up. The Open PK on maps are fine, since they have one non-PK channel if you really want to get out of it. I think it's well-balanced between PVP and PVE.

Lag
Despite having large numbers of players duking it out in the realm vs realm matches, it is perfectly smooth. It's rare to find this, since almost every huge fight suffers from huge lag spikes, so it was surprising to find it lag-free.

Cons:

Lack of customization
There is quite literally none. I thought at first that with skill points, you're build might be different, but then it turned out that you get more than enough points to get pretty much everything. There's no real separator of your level 30 and everyone else's level 30, other than how deep your pockets are.

Grind
It is very, very, very, mind-numbing. If I'm not watching or doing something else, I'll fall asleep like instantly.

Item Mall
For sure the Item Mall will cost a fortune. Just how much cash shop items everyone spams for upgrading will show how much cash shop you're going to need. Basically, this game looks like it will be heavily dependent on the cash shop.

Overall:

The game was fun until I realized that the customization was near zero. It's too bad, since the PVP was very fun. For now, the game is done for me.

Side note: It's the first time I'm using the Megaten tag.

Pearzified Saga: Prelude to the end

As Rho approached the TMG building she could see blinding flashes come from the roof.

Guess that's where I'm headed, so like Pearz to make things flashy, have to let everyone know huh.

Quickly rho dashed across the barren wasteland to find a familiar male corpse turned face down.

It can't be him again..... can it?

Quickly kicking over his corpse to see the same sight.

This is the second time I found the corpse of this so called "librarian", Aaro. His face is less mangled this time it is clearly him but did Pearz have to carve her name in his corpse? Must have center of attention huh? She would be a horrible assassin.

Rho starting dashing towards the entrance of the building. The doors looked like they were busted open forcefully with a flow of blood still freshly dripping down the staircase. Rho quickly pulled out her dagger and proceeded cautiously up the stairs. As she walked up the stairs she could see among the floors more corpses resembling Aaro were everywhere.

How is it possible? Is he cloning himself? Is that even possible yet?
After a couple minutes of climbing stares there was an earth shatter blast. The glass along the building all shattered to the force of the shockwave.

I'm close to the top. Whatever just happened up there musta been the descisve blow.

Quickly leaping up the flight of stairs Rho swings open to see Pearz standing over a mangled corpse with blood still dripping from her Kyoko.

"Guess I screwed up" Pearz said as she collapsed on the floor.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soooooo This leads up to the finale of the Pearzified saga which also leads to our next event.

The one that can correctly predict (or closiest) takes everything else no one had dibs on (mainly cause I'm extremely lazy)

For last event:
No one correctly guessed the food so I'll take the first reply with closiest answer which was Xed.

For the ego Lndi takes it again (gawd you win to many)

And for a final part of our fun in astral:

~Pearz

Event #5

Been busy, been having a stable raid team every day + nearing end of term = busy busy
(plus I'm 26 hours into Strange journey, trying to beat it)

Lots of good suggestions but I think I'll go with these 2:

"Event idea: How big is Pearz's ego, in 100 words or more."

"Pearz' favourite food"

Gratz Azuno + Indi

~Pearz

Pearz is out of ideas for events

Soooo if it wasn't obvious Michi won the last event. The post is so pro I'mma repost it here XD

Because it exceeded my expectations so much, (and everyone else disappointing me with no replies) Michi can pick 2 top tier prizes

Cause Pearz is lazy and can't come up with an event idea, we arrive at EVENT 4!1!1!!1

Person that comes up with next event will be used and wins a top tier prize

~Pearz

Event 3

Been a while since last event, but I was busy. So here is the 3rd event:

Make a post somewhere on Aeria forums The post must include the Phrase "Pearz iz Awesumz"

The most awesumz invoative post made will win a top tier prize

The posts must last at least 10 hours, to give me and others a chance to see it

Link me the posts in comments

BTW: Event 2 had no winner. I love most my posts but 1 post of mine stood out the most as my favourite. the correct answer was this post. I loved it so much I got agitated when Aaro posted shortly after with a long post making my favourite post pushed down. My agitation was shown by Aaro reposting part of that post as a new post a couple days later.
It had a perfect combination of my thoeries, seriousness and an epic picture of Sinco saying I'm the only 1 to beat him. Hard to compete with that

I'll pick a best answer to win a lower tier prize a bit later

~Pearz

Event #1 +2

Soez first event will be simple

1) Name the FC I hated the most out of every FC ever released. First person to name correctly gets a Top tier. If no one can guess it, low tier prize to closest guess.
Event Won = Indi
FC - Fat Chance 150 AP
It carried the Zero, white fang, scatter SG, and pochi blade which were the biggest thing to happen to MT at that time. I dumped alot of IRL money on FC to get fillers that were so garbage I literally deleted a chunk of it. Add that piss off to the fact that I couldn't even obtain it in game due to rarity. I ended up paying vastly ( around 30 mil worth which is alot at that time) for that white fang and never even got a chance at that zero. To much grief ~sigh

2)Which do you think is my favorite blog post I made? Name it by the date/title. Same deal top if correct and first, low tier for closest.

GO!11!!1!
(only 1 onion head today, I'm lazy)

Pearz' Official Give away Event

So its been quite some time since the Snake cave was added yet I can't seem to motivate myself to even try it. As such that marks any chance of any return to MT. With this I decided to give out my gear. I decided to reward the loyal followers of my blog and friends rather then just handing out to random strangers so everything related to this giveaway will be on this blog only. Here is a small tip, you tell your friends and more people will know, hence less chance you can win. Just a tip

This how it works, I was considering just handing out a chunk to my guild, but I realize I don't know most people in guild anymore hence anyone that FEELS they know me and I know them, drop a message here and you can get item of your choice from the Low tier section. I'll start running random events at random times with first person to finish gets a prize. (random = when It's convenient for me) IF you feel you are SUCH A PRO FRIEND and can get a high tier prize, you can try for that too

ETA: Six Days...

So, it has finally been announced that OB is coming to Allods. It starts on Tuesday, February 16; no exact time yet. (Aaro Note~ : Potentially 11am PST; this seems to be when they like ending and beginning things.)

It is going to be brutal at those lowbie areas with everyone crowding the mobs. Owelz. Unless the start time is later in the day, I will be missing the initial surge of players and instead be on the tail end of catching up to the rest of the players. God, I'm not looking forward to overcrowded levelling areas.

Though it's old news by a couple of days: my GS application was deleted. T_T If it wasn't blatantly obvious...it was a joke application masked with serious wording to make it appear semi-serious. The clincher, I thought, was giving an RT number of 9001. D:

Either way, it's nice to see that some people give serious support, though I'd would like to point out that I could never get GS (neither can Royce, regardless of support). Players like us are too "questionable". Why take a chance on a player that could be beneficial or could cause a lot of problems? Instead, you could take the surefire happy-go-lucky player that does nothing but suck-up. Pretty obvious what to do~ Why fix something that is not broken (in the eyes of the GMs)? Obviously, they can understand the needs of the players and don't need veteran players to tell them. So, end of story: until something big happens to cause them to have an epiphany, neither of us will get GS.

Side note: I've been spam-playing Soul Arena and I'm almost done unlocking most of the characters. (Yay!) All that's left are the brutally annoying ones to do. D:

We're down to 90,100 results now, and we don't even come up as first result anymore. T_T A gold-selling site beats us, along with a blog that hasn't been updated since 2008. >.> /anklez

Pearz for GS~!

I have decided to run for GS. You can do your part and support me in this thread. :O

Also, here is a repost of my GS application:
(Aaro Note~ : With lots of Aaro!Edits that I couldn't make to the actual post. Sadface.)

What community contributions have you made that shows you would make a good game sage?
I have a huge number of community contributions. If I had to pick one, my large ego is my biggest contribution. I mean, just the size of it surely takes up the whole server.

What experience do you have running/hosting organizational events?
Although I can run a variety of events, I have one specialty. I host various Flame Wars in threads that I enter. I keep large amounts of players amused for hours; isn't that the point of having events?

What experience do you have helping people find solutions to their problems?
I have a unique way of helping players find a solution to their most common problem: their build. By utterly destroying my opposition in PVP, players find a clear solution on what build to use... mine.

What experience do you have with our forum community?
I am a frequent poster within the forums. Through very aggressive tactics, I teach players how not to make a fool of themselves on the forums. Usually the players I am teaching don't learn very quickly, but onlookers seem to like my unique approach to teaching players what not to do on the forums.

Please give a short description of what you think a good GameSage does.
To be readily available at all times for the players to ask questions. I have found the easiest way to do this is to mimic the current GS team's actions. By standing in Babel at all times, players know where to find me to inquire about Megaten.

Why do you want to be a GameSage for THIS game (and not another)?
Being a GameSage here is important due to the encouragement I get from the forums. I am often invited into threads to make comments on players' posts. Very often, this leads to unscheduled forum events - but the more events, the better, right? No other game gives me such satisfaction in posting on the forums.

What makes you think you would be a good GameSage?
It's due to my large amount of fame. I believe I can rally a lot of votes from the community. Isn't a GameSage elected by the community on their behalf to communicate with the GMs? If so, I am shoo in 'cause I win in popularity.

ticket number: 9001

Voting for Pearz shows you're kool. You wanna be kool, right?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note: even though I downloaded Aika Online, chances are that I won't even try it.

More for my own reference, here's a list of what I'll be watching for the week (it's just some anime I watch; I keep up with way too many manga to list D:), since Allods CB will be ending tomorrow.

(Here is a nice source for all the new anime that just started this winter season.)

List of anime to be watched:
Katanagatari (interesting animation style; I really like this different style)
Bakemonogatari (actually, I don't know much about this, other than that it's the same author as the previous one...and it really caught my eye)
Kara no Kyoukai (so that I'm well-versed in mainstream stuff XD)
Okami Kakushi (new show; I'll give it the first couple epis before judging)
Vampire Bund (loli vampires, lulz)
Durarara!! (claims of makers of Baccano!, and that was good)
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (this one is more to catch up to current epis, though the manga seems to be better)
Bounen no Xamdou (Aaro recommended it D:) (Aaro Note~ : I don't know where she got that. This was NOT one of the ones I recommended, even though I recommended millions.)
Sora no Woto (lulz characters look exactly the same as K-ON, except they go to war...)

I'll probably update later with what I think of these, and then maybe watch more stuff after seeing how this week progresses. If you have some totally awesome anime that no one has really heard of, I'm all ears. I don't want anything predating 2004, though; older animation styles seem to annoy me of late. D:

Why Do I Still Blog About MT? +Saga

Soez~ Recently, there has been PVP dramaz in the PVP Alliance thread. It's pretty funny stuff, but does, in the Pearz Book of Drama, it really live up to its predecessors?

Here is a small trip down Memory Lane of the old skool MT dramaz: Mini Succubus Wings, Cursebringer, Crystal Sword, Suzaku Earrings, Attacker Cards, Roping Scarf, and PVP - Arkham Creed. (The thread was deleted from Rants and Raves, if you forgot.)

Some small time dramaz: ULTIMATE GUNNER GUIDE from Kaito, and Sally - Origin drama.

So, does some small drama over incense between Cata and Kenj really constitute as proez dramaz now? How far has MT Dramaz fallen? T_T The forums, from what I've noticed, have slowed down significantly. ...a lot less posts, maybe due to a lot less players? Or maybe players have become less vocal lately? Either way, it seems less fun without the more proez dramaz. D:

On a side note: I finally beat Sands of Destruction (for DS; it's something that I only ever mentioned in my own chatbox). It was a pretty fun game; worth playing, at least. Too bad it didn't live up to the hype of how amazing it was supposed to be - still, decent at the least.

Now, to continue the Saga after a long hiatus:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Rho trudged through Babel, she knew who to look for but not their current location. Sitting down for some much needed rest at the fountain, she noticed a redish-black [TL note:1] puff in the midst of the shrubs.

I think I found one.

Quickly lunging at it with her dagger, a man dressed in green and black leaped back. He quickly started floating as he stood in a readied position.

Tch, the Cloak of the Abyss. That's going to make it harder for me to catch him. Got to get him off his guard.

"Who are you? Are you with the Frobros?" Rho asked.

"I'm Force...and what the hell are the Frobros?" he responded.

"So what's with the hair? Around these areas, you will be mistaken. Not a particular good thing, if you ask me."

"I was just passing by. After all, I'm done cash-whoring this world, so I was leaving for Allods anyway."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

Without answering, the man had already floated away.

Sigh, this town and all these freaks. Better get searching again. I want to be out of here as soon as I can.

After Rho mindlessly wandered around the town, haphazardly beating information out of the locals for hours, she had finally found it. Staring up from an underpass at a deserted bridge, she saw the puffs of the Frobros just barely in sight.

She stealthily snuck up to the bridge so that she could hear their conversation.

"So, we are in agreement? We will be changing the order of our morning Fro care. Wash, rinse lather, condition and then let it dry naturally," said the man with the red Fro.

The others nodded.

"Okay then, onto the next important topic. Should we consider changing our Fro colours to match the holidays and seasons?" asked the man with red Fro again.

Tch. Are there any sane ones in this town? I need to get out of here before I become like these freaks.

She lunged at the man with the red Fro. With ease, she held him down with her knife at his throat. The other men with Fros quickly backed up in fear.

"No mistaking it this time. You guys are the Frobros?" Rho asked sharply.

The three men with Fros assumed what could only be a battle pose after hearing the question.

"Yes, we are. Frobros... The Fros show our bro-ness," the one with the pink Fro responded.

Rho stared out with disbelief at the corny battle stance and slogan.

Do they really have what I want?

"Could you let our bro go?" the one in pink continued.

"Just didn't want to take the chance that you would try and escape. I'll let him go when I get what I want."

"So, what do you want?"

"Answers. I know you guys have ears everywhere. Where can I find Pearz?"

"She was chasing something through here a couple of hours ago. Last I saw, she was heading for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building."

Tch. That accursed place. I didn't want to have to go back there if I didn't need to.

Knocking the man with the red Fro unconscious, Rho dashed off towards the said building.

"A 'thank you' would have been nice!" the man with the pink Fro screamed out. There was no answer.

TL note [1] : We couldn't remember if Force's Fro was black or red, so we (as in, I) settled for both.

Escaping Death

(Aaro Note~ : The delicious pun of the title is an Original Pearz Idea.)

I was going to finish a very old post about PVP in general, but it bored me and also seemed out of date. So, instead, I'll post more recent stuff~

Today, as some may have saw me, I PVPed for a bit on MT. I noticed that the entire Chaos team liked to rush Point 1 and sit there the entire match. (It's pretty funny, but it works. Good news is that, when I was playing, I didn't need a team; me alone was enough. XD)

More importantly, I noticed a huge rise in death-based melees. My question: Is the MT community really that unadaptive to change? To let one class EVER totally dominate in PVP shows a lack of ability to think outside the box.

Now, most of you would jump to the conclusion that anti-death takes lv92 Thoth, and that is insane. Yes, it is true that anti-death would do the trick, but there are also much easier (and practical) ways to change. When knowing your opponent is one solo type, you can easily adapt to fight only that one type and thus destroy them.

Here is what I would do:
Eyepatch: 3% attack --> change to --> AC Mask: 8% death resist, -8% expel resist
Seraphim Pants: 3% attack --> change to --> AC Pants: 12% death resist, -8% death resist (there's another pair of pants that gives 13% on J-Wiki, but I don't see it in our shops)
Blood Drain Earring --> change to --> any one of those 5 Int earrings <.<, then Komokuten (10 int)
High Pixie SS: 2 int --> change to --- > Phantom: 5% death resist

From these changes in my Int, I'll gain 15. I could swap in 6 Thantom tarots (18% death resist) without losing a single bit on my pulse (just a 7% cast time).

I could easily drop down one full tier on my pulse (10 more int) and get 11 Phantoms for 33%.

Add that up: 33 + 8 + 12 + 5= 58% death resist, all for the price of 4CLR, 6% attack affinity and 32% cast time.

Assuming even a 60% pulse, with 58% death resist = 17% normal damage. (1.5k swipes go to 252 assuming your pulse is even that weak, plus the reduction from visor + backpack.)

Pretty nice trade-off, considering that every other player is using this now. I could go even MORE extreme and:

Blaze: 10% humans --> change to --> Petals of Innocence? (I forgot exact name): 10% death
Suit: 10% general + 7% attack affinity --> change to --> AC Armor: 12% death
finish with full Phantoms --> 2 more = 6%

This would give me another 28% death, which would half the damage AGAIN in exchange for a much more serious 10% general, 17% affinity damage and 4 Int.

Adding in the backpack and visor that also reduce damage means they would be lucky to clear 100 damage if you stack up on death defense.

86% death resist + 55% pulse = 6% normal damage
2k damage = 120 damage (plus the reduction of backpack and visor)

Seriously speaking, the second trade-off might be a bit extreme, but that first trade-off is definitely worth it when everyone is using death. Question comes down to: Why is no one adapting to the new PVP environment? Is it really that hard to counter a build? If you managed to get anti-death too, with even the first build, you would be totally immune to death (pun intended), since that's what everyone is in PVP.

BTW: Since no one wants to play, I'll bump up reward for my Advanced Wars challenge to 5mil if you beat me.

Daybreaker~!

Soez~ Even though I'm gone from MT, my dream has lived on in Rain. Midnight just today made the very first Daybreaker on the server (and also the first Cadabolg, but meh ^_^). Gratz, Midnight.

~Pearz

Season's Greetings?

So, it's the 23rd and Christmas is coming up. Some of you might not celebrate, so Season's Greetings. XD The good news is that Aaro lent me a big (and I mean HUGE) laptop to use. I can at least Cloud 9~ ^_^ No news yet, though, when I'll get my own one back. T_T
(Aaro Note~ : Comment 1. "At least", you say. It's a perfectly good laptop, actually better than the one I'm using now. It's just my extra now for various other reasons. That's a nice thank-you. *leer* Comment 2. It was purely selfish so you could Cloud 9. After all, there's levels to be had~!)

In Megaten news: the clan lead has officially been passed off to Lndi. Thus, go bother Lndi for anything guild-related. I will still pop into Megaten occasionally, but I think this move to Cloud 9 is permanent. As for the drama that occurred in Rain not long ago, I did not step in for just one reason: I didn't want to pull a Nakasawa (of Lucid). I'm rarely on, so I don't want to be the one that makes a judgement that affects the guild.

In Cloud 9 news: we agreed to remake Rain there. (But we're all too cheap to fork out the money. XD Aaro Note~ : It's, in reality, the fact that both Pearz and Rho stay around less than 1M while I constantly have about 7-9M. If you remember, the guild-making costs 10M. It is actually Pearz and Rho that can't pull their share. n//n) This is mainly due to the fact that most of the guilds already established lack PVPness. I'm already infamous here on Cloud 9, as a "saviour" for the Primus faction, and a wuss by the other faction. I mean just look here.
(Aaro Note~ : That's a long thread. Mention of Pearz shows up near the end of Page 1, then Page 2 is devoted to Pearz fighting back and Page 3 is basically Rho and Pearz discrediting the other side's arguments. Enjoy.)

Our "archnemesis" is a guild called Eternity. They like to run in huge, huge wolf packs and then wonder why we run when we're obviously grossly outnumbered. The funny thing is that they run whenever they are by themselves. It's pretty funny when someone higher level runs from you, fearing a 1v1.

Eternity boosts my ego so much~ Look. (Yes, indeed, the title of our little group is in reference to me. Who else is named after a fruit? XD) Cloud 9 is full of fun, fun, fun e-drama, and I hope more ensues. E-drama = spice of life.

BTW: I'm still looking for people to take up my Advanced wWrs challenge. It's one of my favourite games of all time, and thus a means of handing off some of my money in Megaten to someone.

Random Rant (Like My Other Ones)

Today marks the first day without my laptop. With my warranty about to expire, I sent it in to get that "s" key fixed. I won't have it back for a week. (O NOEZ.) I own an eeePC (it's a netbook), so I'm doing my blog from that.

Note: I hate netbooks in general. The keyboards are not full-size keyboards and thus are extremely hard to type on.

Megaten-wise: I'm pretty much not even logging in lately to do DFQs. I guess finishing to 150 once already drained me out; don't think I can handle it again. With two content patches recently, we won't see another one for months. There's nothing really holding me in Megaten other than grinding to lv93?

In Cloud 9 news: I'm ranked 3th place for fame (which is, in other words, slaughtering unsuspecting nubs). Owelz. I would post some lovely raging at me, but the screens are on my laptop and, as we know, it's being fixed now. D:

I didn't comment much about the whole Diablocake/Finella thing, but if you haven't seen it: the half assed fake apology was made by Diablocake. Here is summary of post:
Paragraph one - Okay...
Paragraph two - WTF?
Paragraph three - The world revolves around me.
Paragraph four - Here's an attempt at re-interpreting the problem.

So~ According to him, THE WHOLE REASON that her blog is still up is PURELY to give him a chance to apologize. (Wow?) He is not the immature one, as only Finella is. (lulz 'Cause even this post is SO mature.) Posting again, this time saying that you were just trying to apologize, doesn't work after you bash them AGAIN while still pretending it was an apology. Let me have a small re-enactment because it's so funny:

Person B - *standing around*
Person A - Hur hur hur. You SUCK! *punches Person B*
Person B - *leaves*
Person A - *goes to find Person A* You know that it was your fault I punched you in the first place, and you really do suck. If you didn't give me an excuse, it wouldn't have happened.
Person B - *silence*
Person A - Yeah, that last statement was an apology.

Pretty lulz to me.

So, with my laptop gone, I've been picking up some random manga to read, and also beat some DS games that I've been meaning to play (like the new Zelda game).

EDIT: I forgot to add this, the ZOMGZ PEARZ CHALLENGE!1!1!!ONE!11
Since I've got Macca sitting around, I decided to start this challenge. Anyone that beats me in a best 2 out of 3 in Advanced Wars: Day of Ruin (it's a DS game) gets 3mil Macca.
(Royce reminded me of the game about a week or two ago, so blame him.)
We will rotate 3 different maps, with the fog of war, and no cheating. (At least, don't cheat if you want to win the macca. XD)

Story Time With Pearz

So, no update to the Pearified Saga, since that takes a good hour or two of my time and also requires the use of my brain. So, instead, I'll tell you how my morning went. lulz

This morning, I had breakfast (consisting of a bagel) at Tim Hortons. For those that don't know what that is: Wiki here; it is a popular coffee/fast food place in Canada. Literally every other intersection has one. It's more common than McDonalds by far (at least, in Toronto anyway).

So, while enjoying my bagel, this man walked in and headed to the counter where they make your food. (There is a counter where they make it in front of you and then hand it to you when they're finished; kind of like at Subway.)

The man then proceeded to start yelling at the guy working. "I shouldn't need to walk in here. I was in line at that drivethrough for 10 minutes. I shouldn't need to waste my time coming in here. Do you guys know how to do your job? I asked for JAM on my bagel, and you gave me this crap. "

The guy working then responded, "When you order a bagel, it comes with butter, so we include it. When you asked for jam, we added it on top so you don't get any less with your bagel."

The man continued to go, "It should be common sense that if I want jam on my bagel, then I don't want any butter. Do any of you even know what you're doing? God, I don't have time for this."

The guy proceeded to leave, kicking open the door, while saying to himself, "God, my whole day is ruined now."

At this point is where everyone inside the place started laughing at his idiocy, and I finished up my bagel. I found this perfect for my morning. Pretty funny how a bit of butter can ruin a whole day and make someone rage like that. I should have recorded and then youtubed it; would have been a great hit. XD

So, in Megaten news, I finished the Lord of Flies Quest and already made my Lilith. The quest took me a good 2-3 hours, but it was new and exciting. ...too bad that was it for content. I tried to stone the Lilith, but failed. My synthesizer does not break the 5% on her crystallize. T_T
So far: 10 tries with Philosopher Stones (15%) and 17 tries with topaz (5%). I fail.
No, don't ask me to make a stone unless you're providing pretty much everything. (._.)

In Cloud 9 news, they got a content patch EXACTLY at the same time as Megaten got the Lord of Flies patch, thus making me pick which one to try first. D: Thus patch included a new continent and a raised level cap of 50.

The funny news is: the protection on their game is garbage. There were players that were caught hacking. This is what happened (quoted from Cloud 9 forum):
"This maintenance is because of ****s newly published hack, which lets people transform to a level 30-50 monster (including bat and more), and lets people log in to others' accounts if they only know their account name. Also, skills that are disabled/not availible yet could be used. This game is **** unless they fix it now. "
Basically (I may not know the exact hack but generally this is how it worked): the game uses a website to launch their game, except you have to log into their website to launch the game, so then you are already logged in by the time to launch. Now the problem is thus: for your browser to launch the game for you, you need an ActiveX plugin. By monitoring the add-on, you can find out what "key/code" is being sent by the website to boot the game.

Obviously, that key was totally non-secure and just included an account name, which is pure fail. That's how people were logging into other people's accounts. The transformation and unreleased skills was just their client files having zero encryption, which is pretty fail too. I was actually planning on doing same thing too, but just as a way to skip the patcher and website launch step. Probably the one that figured it out was doing that too, and just happened to stumbled into an unlocked door to other people's accounts. XD

So, this is pretty lulz. The good news is that the GMs are out of hiding. They seem to actually appear now to address problems on forums and such. Yay~?

Castlevania Comes to Megaten!

So, if you don't know, the J-Server is getting some huge patch called Chain of Curse. With Fifi gone, there is little information on this patch and its contents. I decided to browse the J-Server's forums, and these seem to be the the relevant posts about what the patch is semi-about.

Side note: My ego is through the roof with 2 different topics, here and here, about me in general, both within a week. Wah? /explodes

(Aaro Note~ : I'm sorry for what is to follow. I don't know the original Japanese to translate any better/coherently, and I don't know how to decipher bad English this way. Suman. T_T)

From the looks of it, a map called Ikebrkuro (
イケブクロ in Japanese) is going to be added. The players have some concern about using bikes (or having to use them?) in that area, apparently. Engrish is hard. All I can tell is that it seems to be new Acts, and a lot of people on the forums are asking if xx demon will be implemented with this patch. Seems like there's very little info about the patch - or, at least, on the forums - that seems to be known. A lot of it is just people speculating things.

I posted here rather than on the main forums 'cause I'm forcing you to load this page instead. I'm kool like that.

On a side note: last night, with all the GF talk, I decided to look around and see what other MMOs are out there. I came across this interesting MMO called Cloud 9.

It meets my requirements like so:
1. Customiziation. Six classes that each have their own skill tree, three races that each get their own skill tree, and then you can sub one of the six classes for another skill tree. Sounds promising.

2. New. Open Beta only just began on Nov 25/09.

3. And all that rest of jazz that MMOs should have > PVP!!, Auction House, Mounts, Pets, PVP!!!...and other stuff. Also, there are some features to create your own dungeon; don't know how it works, though.

I haven't tried it yet; I'm going to try it tonight so that I'll have a review about it sometime later. Looks promising.

I Failed...But Won at the Same Time!?

Well, this weekend we had our 3x EXP/NDP/XP Event and so I decided to grind to lv92. I started the weekend at 2% with a bank that looked like this:

(The encircled cards at the upper right corner are B27 cards, and the rest are all Unknown Cards.)

At the end of Day 1, I had failed to reach my goal of achieving lv92 in one day. I got to 70% before the EXP Event ended and I was sad.

Onto Day 2~ I got to lv92. In total, it took me exactly nine 10x Incenses to hit lv92 (so that's around 4.5 hours of grinding for lv92). Each 10x Incense let me do four Assassin Rooms, getting me 145mil EXP in one Incense.

My bank now, after reaching lv92:

D:
(Yeah, I got a Medium Runestone from doing Deep Ichi.)

I think I'm done levelling for a while...or, at least until I sell Athena.

In other news, GF CB is ending. *Le GASP* You mean that I was right!? /acts shocked

Edit I: This just in. GF GM says: "We aren't moving into OB because ALL of the bugs have been fixed. Remember that OB is still a beta. We've been able to prove that our client is stable and the large scale bugs have been fixed so we can open the game up to everyone. "

That line seems familiar, right...? Two for two in these predictions so far; just how far can my ego inflate?! :O

Edit II: HOLY CRAP, I loved that Protopia Survivor. Because of the 3x Event, no one went and thus it was just free farm for me. I walked out with one Scales Zodiac, one Virgin Zodiac, seven sequencers and also a Hanged Man Tarot.

Chapter 4 : Collection

The room fell silent again, this time for Rho to contemplate her next course of action. Staring at the unconscious Lndi still on the floor, she thought of an idea.

Wham. Rho tossed another brick at Lndi.

That should wake her up.

"Oh, my love, I feel as though you were right here. This throbbing feeling all over my body must be my heart aching for more," came the proclamation as Lndi instantly popped up.

"She's already gone, but she said something extremely interesting about you," Rho said as she tried to contain her evil laughter.

"TELL ME, TELL ME, TELL MEEEEEEEEEE!" Lndi ran over to Rho's side.

"I'll tell you what it was, but only after you do a few simple tasks for me."

"Tell me and it will be done!"

"Get the doctor in here. I want to know exactly how I'm doing."

Without a reply Lndi jetted out the door.

At least I'm rid of that psycho for a while. Hm, so it is a key, huh? Sigh, Pearz for creating more questions. I'll beat her silly later.

"Someone called for me?" A man wearing a doctors coat was followed closely behind by Lndi as they entered the room.

"You're the doctor, I presume? How am I doing? How soon can I get out of here?" Rho questioned.

"My name is Shiki. You're doing just fine. Your body healed quite fast while you were unconscious. Physically, you should be good to go. That aching feeling is just you not moving for while; your muscles just haven't been used in a while. Here, look at these." Shiki pulled some photos out of his pocket.

"Um... Why do you have photos of me sleeping? Answer carefully. They may be your last words" Rho stared intently at Shiki.

"Don't worry about it too much. I have photos of ALL OF YOU - even Lndi here. It's part of my collection. Oh, don't worry - I have better ones of you in my secret stash."

Rho tried to lunge at Shiki but just fell short. Lndi stood still, stunned by the fact that some of the pictures of in Shiki's hand were of her.

Sigh, my body is not moving like it should yet.

"I WON'T LET YOU DEPRIVE ME OF MY COLLECTION!" Shiki cried, running off while laughing maniacally.

Sigh, this entire hospital is psycho.

"SO, SO, SO, SO, WHAT DID SHE SAY ABOUT ME!? TELLL MEEEEEEEEE!" Lndi has forgotten about the pictures already, now standing over Rho.

"She said she secretly loves you, but was too scared to admit it. I think she wants you to try harder," Rho replied as she got up carefully.

This will teach her to screw with me.

Lndi ran off, screaming gleefully just like a little girl. Rho slowly left the hospital while exercising her arms.

My body seems to feel better. I should be fine by the time I get there.

GF Trilogy Final

Because everything pro comes in trilogies, I have deigned that one last post be dedicated to Grand Fantasia, to complete the set.

So, lately, as random old friends from DOMO seem to have all jumped GF, I tend to leave the GF shoutbox open to see what's happening. I didn't screen this conversation, but I never knew he would be my first hater in GF. (Sigh, me for not screening it.) Here is how the convo went:

Pearz: (insert some random crap about Jon.)

Jon: I failed to make my sword two slot + after 3 hours. (Btw: Boohoo. I couldn't even make my boots, let alone slots. >_>)

Pearz: Gawd, I failed my boots 47 times. Made me rage quit.

Jon: Well, I wasted 30 gold coins.

Pearz: I wasted more on those boots with nothing at the end. At least you got some failed swords to auction house. I'm done with GF; I already made a blog post with my review of it.

Mr. Ant: (I don't remember his name; just remember it starts with an "ant". lulz) OMGZ Pearz. If you quit GF then STOP trolling GF shout box.

Pearz: (insert some random satirical comment about it being none of his business.)

Mr. Ant: OMG. Stop trolling SB. I'm here to help nubs, unlike you who's just trolling.

Pearz: (insert some more random satirical banter.)

Mr. Ant: OMG. LEAVE NOW. STOP TROLLING.

Rest of box people watching: Mr. Ant, you know you're no less of a troll, doing what you're doing now.

Pearz: lulz. /leaves box to go eat dinner (I came back later and he was gone. T_T)

(Aaro Note~ : Anyone other than me wonder about the validity of this conversation, given Pearz' sudden super satire prowess? >D)

EDIT: Aaro doubt's my satirical prowess (._.) (cooks up evil revenge in Pearzified Saga XD)

So, normally I shrug stuff like this off 'cause it's just +random fans for me. But I have work on Tuesdays and the Megaten SB was boring, so I hopped onto the GF shoutbox again...

While chatting with random people from DOMO, Mr. Ant decided to tell me to leave. (Gawd, this kid is funny.) Apparently, chatting with friends about random crap is trolling too. Hahahahaha~ Gawd, this kid cracks me up. He just kept going and going and everyone ignored him; it was pretty epic. Apparently, my randomly chatting with people is wrong in the GF shoutbox (both times!) - but the rule only applies to me.

To my first hater gained without even playing GF: Cheers!

On other news, with that random chat on Day 2, Ruru (friend from DOMO, runitsthefbi) was talking about GF being hackable. Apparently, there is zero protection on the client files and you can modify it to your heart's content. Amazing stuff. XD *goes to get GM powers*

Final note about GF: All of the people in that shoutbox are so BRAINWASHED. When I said that the MMO sites that gave out keys stated the CB ends on Nov 30th, I got rage dumped on.

Apparently:

1. The MMO sites are wrong (even though they had a release date before the main Aeria site posted it).
2. the GMs are working hard to fix all the bugs and it won't go live until all the bugs are fixed.
3. The game is perfect in every way and any criticism of it is wrong.

Aeria is a business, after all; they won't run a long CB even if CB doesn't end on Nov 30th. Every extra day that they leave it in CB is another day of losing money on a game, since more potential cash players will get bored of it and not come back. That's why the next phase is called Open BETA - that way, it can have bugs. Then, when all the players get used to these bugs, they just go live and pretend they don't exist...and start making money from AP sales. The item mal lwill for sure be implemented before Christmas, why? That's when all the kids get money for a present and a perfect chance for Aeria to nab all that money. That's just how it works; you may be calling me out for passing judgement on the GMs so quickly, but I'd be glad to be proven wrong in this case. It just means that the game might be better for some other players. (Though, I don't know why I care or why they would care to prove me wrong.)

I do still have an urge to just log in and grind the crap out of the game, knowing it is CB and it will get wiped. (that super easy zombifying grind.) God, I'm such a grind whore. (._.)

Unrelated side note: I hit lv91 selling Anti-Melee. Go my new pro levelling method! Weeeeeeee~
