First Look at Mayo Chiki 01

I guess I wasn't too surprised that I would enjoy this first episode. After watching the PV and then reading a couple of chapters, I knew that I would love this anime. I just worry that it might be hard to blog about episodically, since humour-based anime are hard to talk about without ruining the punchlines. Hopefully, it will have a decent underlying plot along with it to make things easier to blog about.

Morita-san wa Mukuchi OVA + Ep01

Somehow or the other, I've managed to get a day "off" from "vacation". This Chinese concept of playing hard will kill me. Is it so bad to just want to lounge around?

Copying Lucky Star?

I walked into the OVA not really knowing anything except that Morita was a girl that didn't speak. After reading the synopsis for the Summer Season 2011 previews, I thought it might be a slightly-serious story about how Morita comes out of her shell. However, it turned out to be more comedy, perhaps of the Lucky Star variety. The OVA was a series of extremely short scenes throughout the course of a few days, while ep01 was only 3min long. The OVA was a little harder to get through in one sitting, but I can definitely handle 3min-long episodes about this kind of everyday stuff. Perhaps I'll do a batch post every 5 or so episodes...?

Nichijou Ep14

This may be the last post I make for a day or two, although I have a lot of anime lined up that I'll be doing a post about (Uta no Prince-sama and Usagi Drop, and maybe a combination of Morita-san wa Mukuchi ep01 and OVA), since my plane time is nearing and I really don't have much of the packing done.

So, how is she supposed to act normal with a moving key?

This episode marks the beginning of the second half of this anime, celebrated with a new OP and ED. I must say, I like this new OP "better" only because one of the only times I saw the old OP was the first episode, wherein I didn't know the characters. Now that I do, this new one is pretty funny (and if I watch the old one, I'll like that too). The new ED remarks on the fact that this show has a lot of characters, whereas the old ED focused on Nano and Yukko (who, I suppose, were the main characters of the first half). This episode was extremely hilarious, centralizing on Nano's first day at school, and I can say clearly that I'm already liking this second half.

First Look at Blood-C

I guess the first thing to start with is, "WTF did they do to the Blood series?!" If I was the creator who sold the rights, I would shoot myself so that I could get away from it and then roll in my grave. What they did to Blood with that first episode was so blasphemous that they have zero chances of redeeming themselves.

Yuru Yuri Ep01

With Pearz back to Toronto at this point, I can finally relax again. She's so high-maintenance~ Hopefully, today is not my last day with stable Internet , seeing as how I'm grabbing a flight to some island in China in a few hours. I need my anime and Wiki~

So, Yuru Yuri, hm? I didn't know A Channel had a sibling, but here it is. It's incredibly reminiscent of A Channel, with perhaps a little bit more randomness. I hesitate to draw any definite conclusions, since A Channel began quite happily for me and then exhibited exponential decay. With the first episode of Yuru Yuri being very energetic and fast-paced, I'll continue watching this show with batch posts. (I know right off the bat that I don't want to do episodic reviews for this.)

You're Contracted For Eternity - Musings on Yondemasu Yo Azazel-san

It was an uphill struggle to get myself to do this review, especially with so many interesting anime picking up around the time that this finished. As a fair warning, I really just didn't care for this anime.

This was floating around everywhere as the anime picture.

Yondemasu Yo Azazel-san suffered from only one thing - I disliked its brand of humour. With that colouring my judgement, even 12min-long episodes were difficult to sit through. Most of the jokes were a miss, and some induced a small chuckle. With one of the demons (Beelzebub) being a fly and liking certain types of nutrition, I was turned off even more (I really don't like that type of dirty jokes). To balance that out, I liked two of the demons - coincidentally, the two that had the least amount of screentime. In the end, I was just neutral about it.

First Look at Kamisama Dolls 01

I liked the style for the OP.

I can't seem to peg what this anime is exactly about yet from this one episode. Actually, it's less about what it is about, but rather the direction that it's looking to go. The one glaring thing is that I didn't quite like the art style, which is a personal peeve of mine. (By the way, since I am about to board an airplane heading back home from my vacation, I am a bit more rushed to finish this post.)

Natsume Yuujinchou San Ep01

Natsume! Natsume, Natsume, Natsume~ If it's not clear yet, I love this anime. I loved the last two incarnations of it and, fully biased, I'm most likely going to love this third season as well. I couldn't wait to watch this episode and, at the same time, I needed to prepare my heart for it. It's an anime I love that fills me with sadness.

Oh, Natsume, I didn't even know I missed you, but I did.

I won't lie; because of how long it's been, I barely remember any of the characters or any of the major stories that occurred in the anime so far. Because of that, I'm really glad that the first episode did a little "recap" of sorts, reminding the viewers about the Book of Friends (yuujinchou) and Natsume Takeshi's grandmother, Natsume Reiko. Other than the recap, this hardly felt like a first episode, enshrining the typical handful of demons that each episode tends to have and the returning of names (along with some flashbacks about Reiko, but hardly anything revealing). Nonetheless, I loved every moment of it.

Steins;Gate 14 - World Line Convergence

This won major points with me.

This episode was absolutely awesome. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire episode. I was wondering when Ookarin would just outright approach Moeka. I guess the main thing was that I saw many of the things I predicted actually happen this episode. I always love it when I'm right; it's so much better than being wrong. XD

Yondemasu Yo Azazel-San Eps09-13 [END]

The anime finished a week ago, and I only just today got myself to sit down and watch the last few episodes. I think that says a lot about how I still feel about this anime. With this, though, Spring 2011 is completed (except for the longer series), so there's an accomplishment.

OOC much?

This batch is five episodes long instead of the usual four because 13 is not a multiple of 4 and I didn't want to do a separate post for ep13. This batch finished off the series by introducing two plot lines (one that was super lighthearted and another that was a continuation of the last angel encounter) in its usual ways. These episodes were generally more interesting than the ones prior, since it was nice to see a Sakuma that was turning darker by the day, but I still just didn't like the overall tone of the anime.
