[C]ontrol: The Money of Soul and Possibility In Review [2/10]

This is a spoiler-free review of the anime, in case people decide that they don't want to get spoiled with the amazing PLOT that they had going. You can see my thoughts on the final episode here, if that was what you were looking for. Suffice it to say, I enjoyed this anime in a way that was not intended, which included bashing all the problems.

[C] 11 - Con + TROLL = [C]ontrol

Since when was the yen the strongest currency?

I can't believe how well they picked this title. This is 10/10 because they trolled me so well that I didn't even see it until the final episode. It was humorous how many Dues Ex Machina they stuck into this final episode. They needed a new one to better explain the previous one they put in. That is the epitome of pro-trolling.

[C]antankerous 10 - The ECONOMICS is Mind-Blowing

Talk about a crappy-looking macroflation, compared to the other two.

I was considering splitting the episodic stuff and the economic stuff into two separate posts. Then I realized: there's nothing episodic that's important, other than a few more plot holes, so why not just stick them together? I mean, they did a sloppy job just slapping everything together, so it seems only fitting that I do the same thing when making a post. Why there are people that still think this anime is the best thing to ever happen is beyond me.

[C]ollapse 09 - The Solid Understanding of Stocks

Those are some nice eyes and hands he's got...

Another episode of [C] goes by as I question just what the hell they are trying to do. The entire episode was dedicated to showing the huge effect of Singapore exploding and Mikuni's decision to try to fix things. At least we got to watch how useless Kimimaro was through all of this.

[C]andyman 08 - Singapore is Doomed

They are really pushing the philosophical stuff in this episode. I think that is a better pick for the genre and feel that they are going for in this anime. They are finally setting things into motion for the climax of this anime, though it feels like it lacks much direction based on the shaky build-up these passed few episodes.

[C]amouflage 07 - The Not-So-Hidden Foreshadowing

Yes, if you were fugly, he would have just left you to die.

This anime never ceases to amaze me. With 20min in, three consecutive full minutes were dedicated to repeating scenes from previous episodes. I just wonder what they were thinking when they made this anime; it is mind-boggling how this idea got passed, much less in the Noitamina timeslot. I blame the example that was Fractale.

[C]opout 06 - The Soul Possibility of a Crappy Anime

It would have been perfectly fine to end the anime here, with Kimi's incompetence. It's better than the train wreck it is now...

Lately, I don't know what to think about [C] other than that they have no clue what they are doing themselves. This episode started dabbling in more philosophical questions, with a major copout on the battle at the end. This is probably the epitome of what you shouldn't be doing in an anime.

[C] 05 - Maybe It Does Have Something To Do With Economics

I agree,  Kimimaro overestimates himself, like every other shounen hero. It is pretty staple.

So, I am finally picking this one back up now that Rho got bored of making posts went crazy watching this. I'll be posting about it for the rest of the season instead of Rho, after getting it jacked for four episodes. This episode was the first real attempt to show any sort of economics in this show, through the actions of the guild. It leaves me to wonder if that was just a fluke or if they actually have an intention of weaving more economics into this anime, like it was originally intended.

[C]onversion

"It just means that someone bought stocks from an Entre who had no chance of winning. Guess it's better to be a big dog's uke than to be smart. Har har~"

This week on [C], we got introduced to some new terminology and had a couple of burning questions cleared up (primarily questions like, "How much money does Mikuni really have?" "What is meant by your 'future'?" and "Why is Rho is watching this terrible anime?").

[C] Presents Satou and Wolf!

Q. What is the effect of Midas Money on the real world?

A. Micro-flation
B. Mezzo-flation
C. Macro-flation

At this point, I genuinely think I'm being trolled. Not more than five minutes into the episode, they already started kicking you in the shins. Honestly, if I hear about another NGO named Organization that is bent on saving the world, I'm just gonna end it all with a Pocky!

[C] - The Rulebook of the "Financial District"

These rules actually surfaced on Thursday, but my overwhelming need to rewatch Madoka and talk about it overpowered my need to point out the flaws in [C] (yes, that will come after the rules). I didn't intend to make a [C] post after Rho made one, but the rules surfaced up almost immediately after it was posted, which changes a large number of things. I'll split the post into two parts: observations about the anime after knowing the rules, and some final thoughts.

[see] Episode Two and Find Out What C Really Stands For

"As far as I can recall, he's the first person to win a Deal without knowing anything about it since you did. Sorry, Mikuni-sama, but your days are now fucking numbered!"

[C] stands for crap! Full-on grade A shounen-by-the-book garbage!

This sentiment will be the undertone of this entire post; if you can't take your guilty pleasure getting shredded apart, then run along.

[C]ing For Myself What All the Commotion is About

"My dream is to have a fixed income with a fixed lifestyle. All I want is to live a modest life with my wife and kids. Yes, of course I'll sell you my future for five hundred thousand yen."

Anyone that knows me knows that I am ridiculously picky about the things that I watch, and nothing is exempt.

That is your one and only warning; read on at the risk of your own emotional health.

[C] - The Sole Possibility is Failure

A nice picture I can look at when I rifle through the posts since the rest are...

I guess the initial shock was pretty big for this anime. A couple of days later, I think I'm ready to tackle this abomination. The general consensus amongst almost every blog is that [C] is amazing; I think this is the first time that my opinion vastly differs from the norm.

First of the New Anime Airing Today - [C]

So, both Nutbladder and gg finished subbing this at same time, along with Denpa by Underwater-Commie. I found it humorous to download them all at the same time. I'm doing [C] first, since I watched it off the Funimation rip before rewatching it. There's one thing for certain: it was definitely not what I was expecting and, at this moment, I feel like I got trolled by this anime.
