Science Time - Revisiting Ookarin's Reading Steiner

So, during my latest comment on my other science post, I came to a startling realization that, hidden inside of Ookarin, is the power of a god. That is the TL;DR version to take away from this. Either way, it was one of those awkward revelations that made me just have to start a new post, even though I wanted to be done with Steins;Gate. I guess it is okay, since everything is going to be done airing this week and this is the calm before the storm of posts I need to make for next season.

Science Tuesdays - A Look at World Line Travelling

This was a post I wanted to do for a while, seeing as this week and the next I have much more free time, I decided to do some more rant posts that I haven't done in a while. They did a good job explaining how the time travel worked and it was pretty much seamless but with any other established rules, the own writers break them creating plot holes. I like it when they explain how things work, but it takes solid writing to make sure you follow your own universe's rules.

Steins;Gate in Review [7/10]

So I had to let that final episode sit a few days or else the score for this would have been much lower. Given some time, I get a better picture of the anime as a whole rather then focusing in on the final few episodes which leaves the deepest impression.

Steins;Gate 24 - So This is the Choice of Steins Gate...

Thought he was going to battle it out with his lightsaber, that would've been awesome

With this Steins;Gate ends. After 24 episodes, it felt like an eternity waiting ever week for a new fix. I wasn't too happy with how things were explained at the end of this anime. In the end, they resorted to using a deus ex machina to solve all their problems. I was really hoping it wouldn't come to that. It seems this is being used for everything, which is quite disappointing.

Steins Gate 23 - I R MAD!

I wouldn't either!

Throughout this episode, I was sitting at the edge of my seat biting my nails and then it hit like a punch in a face. Not only did they successfully spoil the plot for what will happen in the final episode, they used the worse device to solve everything. It just hurt my soul to learn this will be how thing will end.

Steins;Gate 22 - The Beginning of Word War 3

Another awesome week for Steins;Gate even if I'm starting to get bored of the same gimmicky flow of every episode. They seem to like to take their time throughout the whole episode with a cliffhanger at the end. When did my anime turn into North American drama shows? This episode had only Kurisu and Ookarin for 90% of the episode which was probably why I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Steins;Gate 21 - A Date With Mayuri

She still wasn't...

This was a pretty slow episode for one of the final ones of this anime. Considering the pacing it has been moving at as of late, I was surprised to see this episode take its time with nearly no plot development. It was a decent episode but when rated on a scale with the rest of the episodes (especially recent ones), it falls pretty low. By the way: Kurisu > Mayuri. You heard it here, folks.

Steins;Gate 20 - I Thought FB Was Facebook

What an amazing episode with an obvious cliffhanger that has been looming over us for quite some time. This was a pretty important episode with some huge spoilers, so this is the only warning to not read this if you haven't caught up yet. I don't want to ruin the epic-ness of this episode with my crappy writing. XD

Steins;Gate 19 - Moeka Overload

Not enough Kurisu...

The majority of this episode took place in a small room with Ookarin and Moeka. Maybe if I liked her character more, then I would have enjoyed this episode. She was my least favourite character, which actually was still a bit better as the antagonist. Her character just felt very weak.

Steins;Gate 18 - Mastery of Awkwardness

So, we finally got an episode focused on the trap and his ending. This episode was just brutal for me, being pretty much the horribly awkward first date. It's almost like Steins;Gate became a slice-of-life romance crap. I think it is the first time I had to pause this anime so many times in one episode.

Steins;Gate 17 - Feyris-Nyan!

So, this episode was dedicated to the Feyris ending for the game, from what I read. I couldn't help but get a bit emotional for her by the end of this episode. This was an amazing episode that left me watching it without break, even though I am sleep-deprived and usually can't finish an episode in this state. The full Feyris ending can be found here, in case you wanted to know the alternate ending.

Steins;Gate 16 - A Part-Time Warrior

So, it was an episode dedicated pretty heavily to the part-time warrior, which I feel was well done. This is how you are supposed to build up a character before changing the tone dramatically, unlike whatever Blood-C is attempting to do, but that is a rant for another time. So, we finally had another time jump to throw the story back into a cliffhanger spiral.

Steins;Gate 15 - Mad Scientist! SOOO KOOL!!

I thought that after I returned home from my vacation, I would at least be able to keep up with the release of anime like I used to. I was wrong. With the pile-up of work and a bit of jet-lag, I end up sleeping for much longer periods of time these days. But, anyway, enough about my excuses; on to "Mad scientist! SOOO KOOL!!" At least he displays his awesomeness even when speaking in a different language.

Steins;Gate 14 - World Line Convergence

This won major points with me.

This episode was absolutely awesome. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire episode. I was wondering when Ookarin would just outright approach Moeka. I guess the main thing was that I saw many of the things I predicted actually happen this episode. I always love it when I'm right; it's so much better than being wrong. XD

Steins;Gate 13 - The Inevitability

Well, I was expecting the time leap to move more than just a few hours; I was pretty sure they said two days. I guess that would make things too easy, being able to jump so far back. Being able to only go back a few hours makes things much more "balanced".

Steins;Gate 12 - Jedi Mayuri

The force is strong within this one.

Omg, this anime just gets better and better. The cliffhanger left off at a pretty important part; it was obvious that something was going to occur, but something of this magnitude was not expected. This is definitely the best anime of this season at this point; I mean, just this mid-series plot development is better than entire climaxes of these other anime.

Steins;Gate 11 - Serious Academic Anon

Things are progressing slowly again, but the difference is that they've finally shown me enough to keep me hooked into wanting more episodes. With pretty much everything I am watching this season feeling like it is going to shit, this is the single ray of hope with promises of a brighter future.

Steins;Gate 10 - Jello of Death

So, things seemed a bit less serious this episode with a bit of revelations. It wasn't as much of a shock episode as the last one but still, it was a nice "break" from that final super serious moment. It was good nonetheless, because it finally confirmed my theory of who John Titor was.

Steins;Gate 09 - The Butterfly Effect

The gears are finally moving with this episode. It has been quite a slow start, but with Ookarin finally feeling the Butterfly Effect, things will be more carefully planned out, I would assume, for each D-Mail they send. To be honest, Kurisu warned him of the huge possible effect of tampering with time. He probably just didn't understand it enough to understand the effects of altering time.

Steins;Gate 08 - The Ripple Effect

We finally got into the main plot of things. It seems that Ookarin can't travel back in time; he can just distort the reality around him while the date doesn't change. This makes you wonder how he changed the fate of Kurisu in the first episode from death. Many unanswered questions arise as we learn more.
